Find out how investing energy into your liver can help you attain an ideal weight.

Good Morning, how is your Liver? – Common greeting in China.
You’ve heard it all before – detox your liver for better health, blah blah blah.
Most people think that it is only for the individuals who drink lots of alcohol or over indulge with sugar and fatty foods.
But it is also extremely important for removing toxins from your liver that can
help you reach your ideal weight.
Now that I have your attention, if you have tired many many diets with no long lasting weight loss or even gained more weight back after stopping – then this is for you.
Cleansing your liver can be a vital step for you to
start to shift weight permanently and reach your best weight for your body and life.
Liver health can represent the health of the whole body. It is an integral part of Traditional Chinese Medicine to restore and enhance liver health. The liver plays a role in some of the most crucial functions and processes within a female body.
Even if you are not experiencing signs and symptoms of a sluggish liver, your life can considerably improve by taking good care of it.
FYI: Signs and Symptoms of a sluggish and overloaded liver.
Difficulty losing weight
Irritability / anger
Indigestion / reflux
PMS and other hormonal imbalances
Fatigue / feeling drained
Constipation / Diarrhoea
High Blood pressure
….to name a few.
If you are experiencing three or more of these symptoms – it would be an excellent insurance policy and I’d highly recommend investing some energy in to a ‘safe and natural’ liver cleanse. (see the simple New Year’s Cleanse below.)
There are a few things you can start today to reduce the load on your liver and
help it do its job properly, for your long term benefit.
You will love the results when you notice the signs from above decrease and possibly disappear and you feel renewed and refreshed in body, mind and energy.
Decreasing the Overeating occasions
Avoiding eating while feeling stressed or overwhelmed or tense in your body
Eating in a relaxed environment – stop eating in a rushed manner
Eating more fibre and vegetables
Having minimal alcohol or steer clear of it as often as possible
Reducing considerably, the amount of fried foods (processed fats), sugar, excessively cooked and processed foods (refined carbohydrates) and pasteurised/homogenised dairy.
Support yourself more by:
Drinking more water
Have lemon and warm water in the morning
Increase green vegetables and non-starchy vegetables in general
Add more enzyme-enriched foods and herbs and spices to your meals
Get in some enjoyable movement each day
Creating space for time out – breathing room and nature time
Up-levelling Self-care in a big way – massage, alternative and transformation treatments and healing, journaling and reflecting and spiritual reading.
Simple Liver Cleanse for your New Year ahead:
Add the following ingredients to a blender;
One cup of Citrus fruit – oranges, grapefruit, tangerine, lemon and/or lime. (The sour the better)
1 – 2 cloves of garlic
1 small piece of fresh ginger
One tablespoon of organic olive oil
Dilute with water to your preference.
Follow up with two cups of a loose leaf detox tea or dandelion tea.
It is preferable to have this drink 5 days in a row, first thing in the morning, an hour prior to breakfast. Repeat this at least 4 times a year, minimal. (Recipe adapted from ‘The Detox Solution’ by Dr. Patricia Fitzgerald.)
Doing a cleanse once a year is a great start but to support, cleanse and regenerate your liver and to keep your weight at an ideal level - do this seasonally.
When liver health is compromised it throws the whole body out of whack.
Don’t let your liver struggle to take care of the most important processes that will help you lose weight and sustain it where you are most comfortable.
