Yum 'healthy' Chocolate Brownie Recipe

This is a delicious first step towards radical health & wellness.

My Chocolate Brownie recipe for your pure pleasure and enjoyment minus the guilt.

Katie’s Chocolate Brownie


  • 400grams of Medjool dates

  • 1 cup of Self-raising Gluten Free Flour

  • 2/3 cup of coconut sugar or ½ cup of organic maple syrup or omit

  • 1 free range or organic egg

  • ½ - ¾ cup of organic cacao powder (depends on your chocolaty preference)

  • Dash of a good quality or organic Vanilla essences or ¼ vanilla bean

  • ¾ cup of Organic Coconut oil

  • Almond milk to help blend

  • Extra Organic Coconut oil for greasing pan.


  • Add all ingredients into a food processor and blend with the help of almond milk to reach a consistency of a thick cake mixture.

  • Pour into a lightly greased with ‘coconut oil’ square baking pan at least 15cm by 15cms and 2 inches high.

  • Bake in a 175 degree oven for 15 minutes for a more gooey consistency or 20 minutes for a baked slice consistency.

  • Remove, and allow to cool in the baking pan, then cut into small squares and enjoy.

*** My Chocolate Brownie is not technically a ‘health food’ as it still has many calories. The benefit of eating this Brownie is the quality of high dense-nutrient ingredients. This is why it is important to use the ingredients mentioned above and not lower quality alternatives. i.e. normal cocoa powder or dairy milk or normal flour. This can be an enjoyable indulgence for you as you have the knowledge that the brownie is giving to your body wonderful health benefits instead of taxing your body like a typical chocolate “treat” can do.
